Defining the moments you can't afford to miss

Before we talk investment, we talk vision. I want to hear about your day, the aesthetic you're drawn to, the way you want your memories to feel, the moments you can't afford to miss. You bring me everything you're dreaming of, and I translate it into a detailed proposal that maps out exactly what it would take to bring it to life, so you can make a fully informed decision about whether investing with me is right for you.

Below you'll find three experiences designed around the most common project types I take on: grand weddings, intimate weddings, and portrait sessions. Each includes a starting price and an overview of what's included, so you can identify where you fit before reaching out.

FAQ

Can I remove the engagement session to lower my wedding photography cost?

Engagement photos are our opportunity to learn each other's styles prior to working together on the wedding day. Wedding days fly by so fast, that I typically only have 15-20 minutes to capture all of your portraits as a couple. For this reason, having the opportunity to photograph you before your wedding allows me to learn and adapt to how I direct you, what angles look best on you, and what photos you like of yourself the most so I can emphasize all of those things on your wedding day. For this reason, engagements are not able to be removed as they play a critical role in bringing value to your wedding day investment.

How much do you charge for travel to my wedding venue?

Regarding mileage, I follow the standard IRS milage rate of reimbursement set each year and adjust that rate as it's updated. Milage fees become applicable once the session or wedding is more than a 40 mi round trip drive from 29687.

If the shoot location is between 200-500 miles round trip, I require a lodging stipend for the night before and night of your shoot, a meal stipend for all travel and shooting days, and the previously mentioned milage rate. This applies to all members of my team traveling for your project and is determined based on what is available + average costs in the city where your photos will be taken.

Anything above 500 miles requires a stipend for airfare, lodging, rental car, and per diems for myself and my team.

What do most couples spend on full-day wedding photography?

The following ranges are estimates only for a standard 8-10 hour wedding day. Your final investment is determined following your discovery call based on travel scope and coverage needed.

  • Local clients (Greenville, SC area): Approximately $6,500-$8,500

  • Regional clients within driving distance (2-6 hours from Greenville, SC): Approximately $7,000-$9,000

  • US clients requiring a flight: Approximately $8,000-$10,500

  • International clients: Approximately $9,500-$12,500
How many hours of wedding photography coverage do I need?

Coverage length depends on several factors we discuss together on your discovery call, including whether you're doing a first look, your ceremony length, venue logistics, wedding party size, and when you want coverage to end. Once we've talked through the details, I draft a sample timeline with your proposal so you can see exactly how your hours would be divided before booking.

Can my wedding planner attend planning calls on my behalf?

Your planner is always welcome to join planning calls, but at least one client must be present for every meeting, and both clients are required for the final check-in one month out. My directing style is built around your chemistry as a couple, so building a working relationship with you directly is essential to the quality of your gallery.

Are engagement sessions available on weekends?

Engagement sessions are available Monday through Friday, typically beginning 1.5 to 2 hours before sunset to take advantage of the best natural light.

Can I add extra hours to my wedding photography package?

Yes. Additional hours are available and priced based on your specific needs. Your custom proposal will include time estimates with reasoning so you understand the recommendation before booking. If additional time is needed later in the planning process, we'll determine the right amount together and adjust your invoice accordingly.

When should I book more than 8 hours of wedding photography?

Most clients need more than 8 hours when one or more of the following applies:

CEREMONY AND RECEPTION ARE AT DIFFERENT VENUES

Travel between locations counts toward your booked hours, so split-venue weddings, including church ceremonies, typically require 1-2 additional hours to avoid rushing any portion of the day.

NO FIRST LOOK

Keeping you apart before the ceremony requires additional time before or after for portraits, especially with a large wedding party or family list.

LONG EVENT WITH A SEND-OFF

If your ceremony starts at 4pm and your send-off is at 10pm, 8 hours leaves very little time for pre-ceremony coverage without pulling you away from guests during the reception.

LONGER-THAN-AVERAGE CEREMONY

Ceremonies with multiple songs, readings, sermons, rituals, or personal vows often run longer than 30 minutes and can affect overall timeline needs.

These are the most common factors, but every wedding is different. Coverage needs are always discussed and outlined in detail on your discovery call and proposal.

How far in advance should I book my wedding photographer?

Most wedding clients book 6 months to 1.5 years in advance, with 1 year being the ideal timeline. Booking a year out gives us enough time to schedule your engagement session, build a working relationship, and plan your gallery thoroughly before your wedding day. If you're less than a year out, it's still worth reaching out, dates do occasionally remain available depending on the season.

Do you work with wedding videographers?

Yes, and I take a collaborative approach. When directing portraits alongside a videographer, I emphasize movement and storyline to create footage that's as compelling as the stills. When possible, I reach out to your videographer in advance to align on vision, timing, and style so we're working together rather than around each other. Having a videographer and photographer with similar experience levels and complementary styles makes a significant difference, so vetting how your vendors work together is worth considering early in your planning process.

How do I choose a wedding date based on photographer availability?

To check availability, you'll need to submit a contact form with your preferred venue options and date range, as my availability is confirmed after our discovery call rather than before. Location affects both travel costs and our creative compatibility, so a finalized or narrowed-down venue list is needed before I can accurately quote your wedding. A booked venue is also required before officially reserving your date, as both the location and date must be confirmed on your photography agreement.

FAQ

How many hours of photography do I need for an intimate wedding?

Coverage length depends on several factors we discuss on your discovery call, including guest count, whether you're having a first look, ceremony length, wedding party size, and whether all events are at the same location. Once we've talked through the details, I draft a sample timeline with your proposal so you can see exactly how your hours would be divided before booking.

What is the difference between an intimate wedding and a full wedding photography package?

Intimate wedding coverage is designed for small, stripped-back celebrations: elopements, small guest lists, minimal or no wedding party, and short ceremonies and receptions. It is not a budget-friendly way to select portions of a full-scale wedding day. Couples who book an intimate package and expect the same volume and variety as full-day coverage will not have their expectations met. If your wedding includes a full-size wedding party, a lengthy family list, a full reception, or coverage starting at the top of ceremony, a grand wedding package is the right fit.

Can I book wedding photography for just part of the day?

Yes, within limits. For any intimate wedding that includes portraiture, some pre-ceremony coverage is required. That lead-up time is essential for building comfort and trust in front of the camera, which directly impacts the quality and naturalness of your photos. Some elopements and backyard weddings may omit most or all reception coverage, and that's perfectly fine within the intimate package structure.

When should I book more than 3 hours for my intimate wedding?

Elopements with just the couple, officiant, and a few close friends or family typically need 3-4 hours. Smaller backyard celebrations with two dozen or more guests generally need 5-6 hours. My approach depends on spending quality, focused time with you, and as the guest list grows, so does the time needed to direct you naturally, understand how you take direction, and tailor my style to your personality. Coverage needs are always outlined in your custom proposal.

Can my wedding be photographed in less time than you recommend?

In most cases, no. Reducing time limits what I can cover, reduces variety, and cuts into the space needed for real moments and unique ideas to develop naturally. My directing style is tailored to you specifically, and that takes time. If we work together, I want to give you everything you envisioned, not rush events or cut meaningful moments to fit a shorter window.

What if my budget doesn't cover the amount of photography I need?

If the proposed hours exceed your budget, we're likely not the right fit, and I'll be upfront about that. I never want to over-promise and under-deliver, so your investment must align with the coverage your day actually requires. If it doesn't, I'll kindly refer you to another photographer who may be a better match for your needs and budget.

What is the maximum coverage available under an intimate wedding package?

Intimate wedding coverage caps at 6 hours. Beyond that, a wedding is approaching full-scale territory and would require a second shooter and engagement session, which fall under the grand wedding package.

What is included in an engagement photography session?

Every engagement session includes 90 minutes of shooting, a planning call, a custom wardrobe guide with a personalized mood board, and photo delivery within 4 weeks of your session date. Travel and rental fees beyond 40 miles round trip from Greenville, SC (29687) are not included in the base package.

What kinds of portrait sessions do you offer?

The portrait base package covers couples, families, businesses, and individuals. Session type, location, and wardrobe are all tailored to your specific vision and confirmed through a custom proposal prior to booking.

Can I book more than 1 hour for my portrait session?

Yes. The 1-hour base package is the starting point, not a cap. Sessions typically max out at 3 hours before event portrait rates apply. How much time you need is something we determine together on your discovery call based on the scope of your vision.

What is included in a photography wardrobe guide?

Your custom wardrobe guide includes photos and descriptions of the clothing styles and silhouettes that will best complement your art direction. From there, you send photos of pieces you already own or are considering, and we narrow down your final look together before your session.

What days are portrait sessions available?

Portrait sessions are available Monday through Thursday. Weekends are reserved for wedding days.
