Visual Rarity

The Archives: where unique experiences come together as one body of work, individual stories forming movements in an epic poem. I strive to create work that is both deeply personal yet unmistakable: familiar in tone, yet wholly unique in form. Every person I work with brings a distinct source of inspiration, and I tailor each experience to honor and elevate the emotions and experiences they want to reconnect with when looking back on their photos for generations.

& the Art of Specificity

Art Direction

The art direction is determined during proposal writing. I evaluate a wide variety of details discussed on our discovery call and consolidate your ideas into a detailed photography proposal. This proposal displays what I picture the gallery will look and feel like, and I pair visual references with a title that I feel summarizes the overall style. This title, your art direction, serves as a descriptor and goal for the curation of your gallery.

 

Keywords

Expanding on the title are the keywords. Keywords provide additional specificity related to the experience, posing, and composition. For example, if the art direction is "Grungy Minimalism", the keywords I might choose are "edgy, geometric, simplistic, relaxed", meaning that I will direct and compose photos that feel both grungy and minimalistic by emphasizing edgy postures, framing simple, geometric backgrounds, and curating a relaxed, intentional moment with the couple.
